Tips & Rules

Rules:​

1. Please make sure your decorations are rain and wind safe. Trees will be standing outside in the elements for over 30 days.

2. All ornaments and decorations on tree must be secured by using zip-ties, pipe cleaner, string, wire, or other ties. Ornament hooks will fall off in the wind.

3. DO NOT use water-soluble glue on ornaments. 

4. Please bring an extension cord and use LED Lights. This will make the process go smoother. Thank you!

5. There should be NO decorations or additional signage in front of the fence except for your tree sign issued by GCT Memorial Foundation. Additional signs may be placed behind the fence.

6. A GCT Memorial Foundation representative will check trees daily and will notify you if any lights or decorations that need to be maintained.

7. You have until December 4, 2024 to complete decorations

Tips & Tricks

1. Plan ahead! Make sure to plan your tree ahead of time to make sure all decorations and final touches are completed by grand opening night December 5, 2024.

2. Spray any fabrics with Scotch Guard to prevent mildew.

3. If you plan to spray paint your tree please bring a drop cloth to protect the fence and grass. Be mindful of your neighbors and the wind while spray painting.

3. Make sure to bring enough zip-ties in a variety of sizes for all decorations and lights to be secured to tree. **Zip-ties work best and easiest versus strings and wire**

4. A minimum of 3 packs of lights were needed to cover the standard tree size. If you like yours extra bright you might want more!
